A local favorite is a short 3-mile drive north of town. JQS Road is a packed dirt and stone one lane road that meanders 7-miles to the top of the Roan Cliffs overlooking Rifle, Colorado. For a more challenging ride, go off the beaten path onto one of the jeep roads or single tracks lining the main road. From there, bikers can ride for hours discovering a variety of wildlife over rolling hills and sometimes steep cliffs.
The Rifle Information Center provides area mountain biking trail maps at 200 Lions Park Circle along the Colorado River. Follow signs to the information center off of Interstate-70.
